Children Classes

ZOILA’S SGV DAY CARE CENTER
The Center was established in 1975 by Judy Jessop and is located in the Community Center building. Children are accepted from four years and nine months to nine years. There is a newly renovated outdoor play area for nice days and a healthy snack and juice are provided. The Day Care staff emphasizes a playful and loving atmosphere, encouraging socialization, and allows for
alone time and “doing nothing.” A home-like environment is the goal, filled with patience and love. We are fortunate to have the help of our great and glorious Maureen Dolan and Sean Dodd this year.
The Day Care Center is open Monday-Friday from
noon to 6:00 PM on school days.

T’ai Chi Continuation Class with Jacob Barnett
Developed by Taoist monks over 1300 years ago, T’ai Chi Chuan is many things to Jacob Barnettdifferent people. For me, it’s a way of regularly reestablishing and deepening my connection to the Natural World. I emphasize the importance of abdominal (diaphragmatic) breathing as a means of incorporating this connection into my daily life. Playing the form’s slow, circular movements with intention; being simultaneously relaxed and concentrated while breathing abdominally, we move ourselves into a different mode of being. Our vital energy (chi) begins to grow and circulate throughout our bodies. Traditional wisdom believes this circulation of chi is responsible for maintaining optimal health, strengthening many aspects of mind, body, spirit, emotions — expressing the essence of harmony. Classes are paced to meet participants’ needs and designed for all interested, regardless of experience.
Jacob Barnett has been practicing T’ai Chi since 1977, instructing for eleven years, with an emphasis on applying the form’s essence to daily life as a vehicle for personal health, development, change and transformation.

TOTAL BODY SCULPTING
CORE EXERCISES FOR EVERY-BODY

suzanneshelleyOver time we develop patterns of movement that compromise the structural integrity of our bodies. This lack of balance and strong core muscular support results in bulges in our abdomen, hips and buttocks and leads to recurrent pain in our back, hips, knees, neck and shoulders.
The goal of this class is to learn how to build core strength from a foundation of alignment. As a result you will be taller, leaner, and more flexible.
You will feel different after the first class and see results within the first 10 classes.
All ages and levels of physical ability are welcome from athletes to couch potatoes.
Suzanne Shelley has 18 yrs experience teaching Total Body Sculpting to groups and individuals. She has worked with hundreds of people helping them experience the joy of moving from their core with ease and grace.
